HOW TO BECOME PART OF HOUSTON JUSTICE:
We welcome everyone to be part of the movement we're building towards a more equitable Houston. We're always looking to add Coordinating Team Members, Organizers, Volunteers, and Donors to the movement.
Coordinating Team Members are responsible for coordinating a team for a specific project (like Tina coordinates #ProjectOrange) or they coordinate a specific general area of our operations like Finance. These positions often require a minimum (8) hours per-week commitment and completion of our On-boarding and Robert's Rules 101 trainings.
Organizers are the building block of any movement. They are responsible for leading trainings and occasionally tasked with leading specific Houston Justice events. For instance, an Organizer might lead a group of voter registrars for #ProjectOrange, coordinate a group of volunteers to table at an event, or represent Houston Justice at a press conference or mobilization. To represent our organization, you must complete our 1-hour On-boarding training to learn about our history, values, and shared practices.
Volunteers have the most flexibility, and the least time commitment. Volunteers are often asked to attend events or write a blog about an event they attended to be used on our website.
Donors provide the resources that allow us to sustain our work. Please consider making a recurring $9, $49, or $99 donation to our movement. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
